Demetrice Harper Mitchell Owner/Visionary
I was born to teach. Whether it is teaching high school juniors English; eighteen month olds to dance; cheerleaders to jump; or my children how to rise above challenges---teaching is my life. As a child I grew up “playing school” and performing baton for an imaginary audience. As early as the sixth grade, I was beginning to teach real students; although my first class was a small baton class in the back of the gym, I was teaching. The seed had been planted and the proper environment was being cultivated for me to grow into a true teacher. Twirling baton gave me that foundation, and cheerleading continued to reinforce my purpose. As I entered college and pursued my dream of becoming a teacher, the step team captured my heart. As I continue to grow, I am now afforded the opportunity to give back to the community by sharing this garden of dance. It is my honor to foster the fine arts in our youth in Trousdale County and the surrounding communities in a local dance studio. All of my accolades, titles, certifications, and honors are special, but nothing is more special than being able to give back to the community in such a valuable way. By sharing my passion, it is my hope that I will be able to positively impact the lives of many; however, if I only impact the life of one, I have made a tremendous difference in the world. I have left this world better than I found it! Thank you for sharing your talent with me, and if you don’t have a dance partner, Hartsville Dance Studio would love you have you as a dance partner.
